What if STORY is the answer?

For the past decade, I've searched for purpose. I've crept, crawled, and climbed, seeking to know: “Why am I here?”
Last week, I got my answer.
I was lost on a treacherous mountain path in North Georgia. My GPS decided to send this Florida girl home the shortest way possible—over and around Blood Mountain. (I kid you not!) I had never driven mountain roads, my signal was lost, and my battery was low. To put it simply, it sucked!
After a fear-bound day of traveling, I decided to give in and find a hotel.
Grateful to be safe under those crisp hotel sheets, I reached out to the two men who mean the most to me. First, I called my beloved brother, and then I called the man I had recently broken up with, but missed with all my heart.
Just hearing their voices brought me home. And that's when the answers came:
I am here for love.
Maybe that epiphany sounds simplistic, but I assure you, this love-thing is so much more than any sappy love song can sing.
This love permeates the whole darn thing. It is ours. It is yours. It is mine. Even when we're alone in a town, in a state, on a mountain where no one knows our name, love is there. It never leaves.
Not for one second.
So, how do we tap into this almighty power?
For me, the answer is STORY.
For a lifetime, stories have been my healing salve. Listening to them, holding them, and telling them has mended me more times than I can count.
Story is more than just a well-crafted character or a clever plot twist. It is the divine thread that connects us all. It binds us, heals us, and reminds us that we're not alone.
And so… the next leg of my journey begins!
My new endeavor, Jumping Fish Studios, encapsulates everything I've been working toward for a lifetime. And it begins here, with three brave fish leaps forward… and a whole lotta love 🐟🐠🐡
Miss Magnolia’s Sensational Story Sessions: We’ll gather at local cafes, where I'll share my favorite folktales and together we’ll build our own community stories. All ages welcome!
Story Coaching: I now offer one-on-one and small group classes to explore the art of story, helping people develop, craft, and share their own tales.
Publishing Consulting: I am continuing to help people bring their stories to the world! If you have a children's book you're aching to create and publish, I'm your gal.
Jumping Fish Studios is so much more than a publishing company; it is sacred waters where together we swim these bountiful, difficult, vast, and curious oceans, using story as the common thread that brings us back home to the center of our oh-so-human hearts.
